Flat roofs

General
The use of flat roofs in new work should be kept to an absolute minimum. Whenever possible a pitched roof, with a reasonable eaves overhang, should be used.

Insurance backed guarantee
A high performance specification must be used giving at least an insurance backed 20 year minimum joint guarantee between the supplier and the approved roofing contractor for both labour and materials. Details of existing guarantees are to be held by the core consultant.

Specification
Where possible, the same suppliers' standard specification should be used for each roof.
